Drupal Design Camp Boston Comes To A Close
It has been a long and event-filled weekend at Drupal Design Camp - Boston. As I sit in my hotel room on the final night of the camp my thoughts turn to all I have learned and shared. I was able to able to reconnect with old friends and make new ones as well.
I had an absolutely wonderful time. There were lots of great sessions led by incredibly passionate people. I would like to give a special thanks to Susan MacPhee for hosting a great event. Without your dedication none of this would have happened.

The weekend started with opening remarks by Morten DK which set the tone and energy for what would follow. What followed was a sort of revolution, one that started a few short months ago. The idea that Drupal should not simply be functional but beautiful as well. Jay Batson's keynote continued that idea by getting us to participating in that change.
There were talks by developers and themers alike. Matt Farina spoke about How We Can Make Drupal Better and John Albin Wilkins discussed Making Drupal Dance during a remote session from Taiwan. Jacine Rodriguez set about Introducing Skinr, a new module to make a set of CSS styles available through Drupal's UI and Lisa Rex got us Evaluating the User Interface. We even got to learn more about Node Theming from Rob Feature. There were so many good presentations that I could go on and on, instead you can go to boston.design4drupal.org and see for yourself. Sometime in the next couple weeks there will be videos and slides available so those that were unable to attend can benefit from the knowledge passed to the attendees. As a side note, if you do find the information useful, and I believe you will, please support the Susan and team with any donation you can. The money raised will help the community and future events such as this.
For me, the highlight was hearing the creator of the 960 Grid System, Nathan Smith speak with Todd Nienkerk about Accelerated Grid Theming with the NineSixty Theme. There was such a large interest in the presentation that the organizers had to move it to a larger room. I feel as though it is a tribute to the Drupal Community to have such a person as Nathan getting excited about Drupal and sharing his thoughts on how to integrate his incredible grid system into Drupal. His authentic interest in understanding what it means to be Drupal, as a developer or designer, is inspiring to say the least.

Thank you everyone for the good times.
I am looking forward to seeing you all in Paris.
